EDF Renewable Energy’s 102.5 megawatt Shiloh IV Wind Project, in Solano, California, became operational on December 21, 2012. According to the company, it generates electricity for about 40,000 homes. The San Diego-based company has a deal with PG&E to provide power for the next 25 years.
Over a ten year period, the company closed more than $5 billion in financing to support the project, which consists of 50 REpower MM92 wind turbines. An impressive $1.6 billion in funding came in 2012 alone. The facility will help the state of California move closer to its goal of %33 renewable energy.
